Westfield – Suzuki Hayabusa
Steve also sent us a short history of the car build
Purchased the Westfield 7 se (Pre-Lit) as a rolling chassis in 2014, it only had the side alloy panels and rear axle, started the build which was going to be with a Zetec 1800 engine, changed my mind and sold this to go for a tuned 1400CC Hayabusa power plant. Stripped the car and had the chassis powder coated, built back up including full MSA cage.
The build took 3 years, includes Carbon rear arches purchased from Germany, carbon front arches, carbon dash, Protech suspension. Management is via the MBE 9A9 ECU, custom wiring loom from Sileck, lots of help and assistance from SBD and Simon at Meteor Motorsport. The 9A9 controls all engine features along with the SBD paddles via compressor including full up shift and blip on downshift. Also have the SBD tapered throttle body kit. Results were excellent, took 4 year old class record from a “Spire” at the local event “Les Val Des Terres” hill climb and then the record at Petit Bot Hill climb also in Guernsey in the “Modified Specialist Production Cars up to 1400cc”.
