Due to the wide range of installations that the Duratec is being used in, we have produced a range of alternator kits to cover engines which use either mechanical water pumps or electric water pumps. Duratec 50amp Alternator Kit using Electric Water Pump

Alternator bracket kit to fit our ultra small alternator ALT-WOSP-050-01 to the 2.0L Duratec for use with our small lightweight crank pulley PLY-MV5TW-36-1 and electric water pump. The smaller pulley/trigger wheel reduces the speed of alternator to prevent damage in motorsport applications, particularly when high revving. Designed to be mounted on the exhaust side.

Our WOSP 50amp alternator has been especially built to our specifications with mounting designed to suit our GM XE and Ford Duratec. It comes fitted with a 4-vee pulley. The alternator weighs 2.5kg. We only sell WOSP alternators, this is the only manufacturer in the UK who is directly connected with Denso, which is the original Japanese manufacturer. WOSP is the only company in the UK that is allowed to buy Denso alternator parts.

All our alternators are self-exciting and this keeps them simple to install and reduces the possibilities of faults with broken wires, since when they detect rotation, they will then switch on and off based on the battery voltage, so they only need the positive terminal that would be fitted to an ordinary alternator, but no other wires are used. It only requires a power lead to the battery.

All our WOSP alternators are suitable for use with Lithium batteries.

Advantages of self-exciting alternator:
1. With no extra wires required it simplifies your wiring and less chance of issues relating to broken wires.
2. The regulator produces a higher voltage output, which is ideal for use with Lithium and lead acid batteries.
3. If you wish to run an ignition light, you would need to add the Low Voltage Indicator, Part No. ALT-WOSP-LVS-01

The trigger wheel is NOT included in the kit.
