The Duratec engine has a tin/aluminium bearing fitted as standard to both mains & bigends, it is recommended to replace these with a heavy duty version, which will give your engine extra protection. However this is a high quality King main bearing which can be used as an alternative since the main bearings are less stressed than the big end bearings.

Please always check your clearances are correct and note that some steel crankshafts have been made to their upper size limit.
