2.0L/2.3L Duratec Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Conversion
The standard auto tensioner has a rachet design and is not suitable for motorsport use, it can break under certain conditions and also over-tension the chain causing extra excess stress on the chain and guides. We modify the original Ford tensioner and convert it to manual as the design is then much stronger than the original and overcomes all the issues associated with the standard Ford auto-tensioner.
The original Ford cam chain tensioner has now been discontinued and the newer version is not suitable for this modification, therefore we can only modify customer’s original tensioner as shown in the photo. We can convert your standard Duratec cam chain tensioner to an SBD heavy duty manually adjustable cam chain tensioner, suitable for 2.0L/2.3L Duratec.
This service is based on the customer sending us their existing standard tensioner, which we will then modify, expected turn around 7-10 days.
