Duratec 2.0L TP307bhp Kit


When it came to designing the new top spec engine, we knew a lot of effort had to be put into producing over 300bhp. We spent 4 years testing & developing components until we managed to produce this new high spec engine kit. We also wanted to make sure the kit was reliable, we had to develop special valve springs in order to cope with over 13mm of valve lift, regularly rev above 9500rpm & a safety margin to cope with potential accidental over-rev. We had a custom spring made at great expense, being made from the highest spec material, made in a dual rate which is also put through many treatments to extend the life of the spring. We designed a special 2-ring slipper piston & long con-rod, this showed a 7bhp gain on our development engine on its own.

We pushed the 2.0L Duratec engine to 307bhp, this is achieved with a combination of our SBD DURA-04 300/290 cams, CNC cylinder which is further upgraded with new inlet seats to get the full benefit for the *36mm inlet valves combined with 31mm exhaust valves and with our  Slipper Pistons and Longer Conrod design it produced 307bhp & 200lbft at Track’N’Road Rolling Road in Essex. We tested the engine kit for a year ourselves & supplied components to another well respected engine builder before releasing it to the general market.
*We have tested 36mm and 37mm inlet valves back to back but the increase in air flow from the bigger valve is negated by its proximity to the cylinder wall, giving no gains on the 2.0L Engine.

The kit itself also contains the necessary components to achieve this horsepower, along with a dry sump system and a few extra safety features as standard e.g. up-rated flywheel bolts, main cap studs, head studs & up-rated bearings.

Our high specification taper throttle bodies include throttle linkage kit and air horns.

The MBE9A4 ECU comes already programmed & ready to use. If you are upgrading from our lower specification kits, it is simple to reprogram your current MBE9A# ECU. However for this level of specification we would recommend a mapping session to fine-tune the engine. The wiring harness included in the is coil on plug.

We were running this kit on our Duratec SBD Westfield.

Exhaust Manifolds 
All our kits have been developed using exhaust manifold designs that have been dyno tested and developed by ourselves. In order to achieve the optimum performance from your kit, you will need to have an exhaust manifold made to our design. which when you purchase a kit we will provide information to allow you to have a manifold made to gain the ultimate performance from our kits.
