We have designed a neat and compact accumulator for use in conjunction with a compressor. The bottle made from a lightweight carbon composite and is extremely strong. It is fitted with a 0-150psi (0-10Bar) linear pressure sensor (0.5-4.5v with 5v supply). The MBE9A9 & 9A6 ECUs control the compressor to maintain the required pressure within the accumulator for the optimum gear changes, normally on the SBD installation this is between 120 – 130psi (8.2 – 8.8Bar). There is a non-return valve built into the unit, which maintains pressure within the accumulator when the compressor switch off and it reduces the load at the compressor and allows the compressor to be removed if required without loss of pressure within the system.
