General Motors stopped producing the original XE oil pump in 2014 and only left customers with the option of pattern oil pumps, we tested the quality of all the pumps and felt they were a very low grade and not suitable as a replacement item for high performance use.
We have sourced a superior oil pump housing for the 2.0L XE. It’s improved quality and finish is combined with our solid steel oil pump gear OS-SPG1 and nylon oil pressure relief valve kit OS-NV-1-K to make a high quality, durable uprated pump. The kit also includes a metal oil pump gasket GSK4.

Please note the oil pump casting that we use have the lug to accept the auto-tensioner as used on the later post93 XE engines. If fitted to a pre93 XE engine, it will fit fine but if you are running cam belt covers, you will have to trim the steel back plate to fit around this lug.
SBD only recommend using dry sump systems for motorsport, competition and track use. We suggest wet sumps are only used for road use and only in applications where you are forced by regulations to run a wet sump. Please note that Works teams spend many thousands of hours and vast sums of money developing special wet sumps to give them the safest possible engine and it involves extensive testing in the real situations, where many engines can be lost before a sump design works successfully and they will still not be as good as a dry sump.
