2.0L XE Bronze Valve Guide, 13mm

Bronze valve guide 2.0L XE 16V (Cosworth), the 13mm guide was only used on some of the early 16V Astras with Coscast heads. Must be used with a special stem seal VLV-SS-VAUX-01K.

Inside diameter: 7mm

Overall length: 40mm 

 

Bronze guides are very hard wearing & if you do have a problem with your engine which causes valve to piston contact, the guide may distort slightly, but this is very unlikely to break. Whereas the valve guide made from iron will either crack & fall out at a later date causing a second failure or break into small particles imbedding themselves in the piston & head, so if your budget permits use bronze guides. These guides are direct replacement for the original guide. 

 

Our Competition Bronze Valve Guides for 2.0L XE are manufactured in Colisbro, a higher grade material for added durability, we have also revised several details to aid performance in modern engine builds;

·    Shorter overall length to reduce protrusion into port area

·    Reduced tip height to allow for high lift cam profiles

·    New valve stem oil seal diameter to accept our special compact stem seal, this allows greater clearance when using thicker wire diameter valve springs without interference which is a common problem with original fitment stem seals

 

The guides are designed for an installed height of 10.5mm, this is measured from the top of the guide to the spring deck of the cylinder head.
