Lambda 1.00 NGK Sensor 3 wire with 760mm cable for 9A4/9A8 MBE ECUs. This sensor is ideal for use for MOT & SVA emission tests with the correct set-up in your ECU & appropriate motorsport catalyst.

Most of our off the shelf wiring harnesses are fitted with a lambda sensor input. On smaller 9A4 & 9A8 ECUs, they do not have built in lambda controllers, so they can only be used directly with a narrow band sensor. This type of sensor is only used for the Lambda 1 range (AFR ratio 14.7). This type of sensor is only suitable for emissions test purposes. Those who do not require to pass any emissions tests will not need to use one.

If you would like to use the lambda input as a tuning aid, you can fit a wide band lambda controller and sensor and the input can then be re-programmed to suit. Your ECU will need to be calibrated to run which ever type of lambda equipment you choose, you will need to contact an engine programmer to have your ECU calibrated to suit.

Please note that lambda control should only be used as either a tuning aid or for emissions, it cannot fix an engine that has not been mapped correctly, it is only there to trim or monitor the engine’s emissions to ensure they remain within original programmed limits.

You will require a lambda plug and boss for your exhaust manifold.
